Diastasis Recti (split middle)

Updated: Jul 24, 2023

Diastasis Recti: common- it can be reduced. It's never too late!

Mommy tummy, split or bulging abs- This is often as a result of pregnancy (s) or from an injury. The connection between our two long “six pack” abdominals has to thin and stretch in order to allow for the growth of a baby during pregnancy. After birth this connective tissue is never the same, but can be functional and close when we need it to- for lifting, sneezing, coughing, etc.

image of two torsos the one on the left has their abs long and straight and next to each other. the torso on the right shows the abs separating down the middle and bulging to the sides.

We hear from our clients

“Someone asked me the other day if I was pregnant again!”

" My abs bulge out when I lift something heavy."

Diastasis can contribute to low back pain, poor posture, prolapse and incontinence.

In some people this gap heals on its own and for others it stays a long time. If you have a diastasis this program can help to heal it and make your core more functional again.
